My Reflection

I have been learning to write a recipe.  We read George's Marvellous Medicine and used this story to inspire our recipes.  I found this easy because I had thought of a lot of crazy random things really easily.  My next step is to write a real recipe.

George's Marvellous Medicine Describing Grandma

My Reflection

I have been learning to relate to the Characters in the text.  We have been reading George's Marvellous Medicine.  I thought of some words to describe Grandma from what I learnt about the Character in the story so far.  I found this easy because I have learnt alot about the Character while we read the story.  My next step is to write a paragraph describing Grandma using these words.

Identyfying Different types of Words.

My Reflection

I have been learning to Identify Adjectives.  A adjective is a describing word.  I found this work easy because I have already learnt what an adjective is in the past.  My next step is to use nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs in my writing in the future.

My Multiplication

I found the Doubling and Halving Strategy easy because I had to Split 28 and I already knew what halve of 28 is.  My next step is to try using the other new strategy's like place value. 

My Speech

I have been learning to write a persuasive speech.

A persuasive speech needs to have an introduction,

a point of view, 3 reasons to back up your point of

view and a conclusion.

I think I did a good job because I worked very hard

on my speech and I managed to finish it on time.

I found it tricky because it was hard to come up

with an idea of what to write my speech about.

My next step is to make my speech a little longer.

Today I got awarded a certificate for excellent progress in maths and I am proud of my self for getting it. I can't wait until I get another certificate to add to my collection!!

My Daffodil Art

I found this art tricky because it took a long time to colour in and it hurt my arm when I was colouring.  I found it easy to do the glue part because all I had to do was drag the glue around.  I didn't really like this art because it took a long time for me to do and my arm really hurt when I finished my art.  I really like how it turned out though.

My Reflection

I was learning to do a diamante poem.  I think it was tricky to get all to right adjectives and verbs because I didn't have much ideas.  It was fun to write my diamante poem because i remembered how to do a diamante poem from the last time I did it.  I would like to do more diamante poems in the future because they are fun to do and it is an iteresting way to write and I really enjoy writing them.

I was learning to tell a story in different ways so we did it by art.  I enjoyed this art because it was enjoyable.  I thought it was tricky the cut out the art because I'm not very good at cutting.

I was learning to use a lot of different ways of art to make one piece of art.  I really liked this art because it had lots of different kinds of art and I really like art.  I found it tricky to full up the paper with the cardboard part and the sponge bit.

Cry of the Taniwha Prejudice Example

My Reflection

I was learning to use a prejudice map of a charchter from the story Cry of the Taniwha. I found this learning a little bit hard 

because I didn't remember some of the story but I got it done. I enjoyed this learning interesting because it is a fun way to learn. My next step is to listen carefully to the story.

Rounding and Compensating

I was learning to make fractions and to do that I had to split my shape's
in to a number so I could get the right numbers for the fractions I
needed. The first on was easier then the second one because the second
one was harder to split up.

This is my dream house art that I made at Te Tuhi and I made it out of triangle's and square's. I haven't finished yet but when I am done it would be pretty cool!!!!!

I was learning how to add detail using my 5 senses.  One thing that worked well for me was being in my special place to get ideas.  One thing I could of done better next time is find more words for what it feels like.  Overall I think I did a pretty good job.

Making Inferences - World's Greatest Race

My Reading Reflection

I am learning to make and justify inferences. In this piece of work I had to use my inference skills to find out why the author thinks the Tour de France is the greatest race on earth. I found this tricky because I didn't know the real reason the author thought this was the greatest race on earth.  My next step is to learn how to link implicit information from the text.

I have been learning to retell the story. I used a story pyramid to help me retell the story, Solo Flyer. I think I did well at retelling the main events. My next step is make and justify inferences.
